TPO has more than 50 staff members – all experienced mental health professionals as well as some management and support staff. All staff are Cambodian.

Executive Director

Dr. Sotheara (MD, MPM, Senior Consultant Psychiatrist, PhD) has been working in Mental Health since 1998. He’s been TPO’s Executive Director since 2002. He was among the first generation of Cambodian psychiatrists to graduate after Cambodia’s Civil War and Khmer Rouge period. Dr. Sody (MD, Psychiatrist) provides psychiatric assessment, treatment and psychotherapy to clients at the TPO Treatment Center in Phnom Penh. She is a pioneer of mental health work in Cambodia. Dr. Sothy (MD, Psychiatrist) provides psychiatric assessments and treats clients at the TPO Treatment Center in Phnom Penh. He obtained his MD at the University of Health Sciences and completed his residency in psychiatry in 2005. He has been providing treatment to people with mental issues and survivors of torture ever since.

Training Coordinator

Phaneth, who holds a BA in Psychology and an MA in Counseling Psychology, is in charge of TPO’s Training Unit in Phnom Penh. ROS Saray Endeth

Project Coordinator

Ros Sarayendeth has been working with TPO Cambodia since 2011 as a Counselor/Trainer. Now in his role as a Project Coordinator involved in Johanniter International Assistance funded a humanitarian project Creating a protective community for women, girls, men and boys through preventing and responding to gender based violence in a pragmatic and gender sensitive manner. Endeth holds a BA in field of Psychology from Royal University of Phnom Penh, and in 2003, he pursued on a degree of Educational Science and English from Faculty of Pedagogy. He also held a Master Degree in Development Management in 2013.

Project Coordinator and Clinical Supervisor/Counselor

Currently he acts as project coordinator with Justice and Relief for Survivors of the Khmer Rouge project and provides mental health support for Civil Parties of the ECCC, known as ‘Khmer Rouge Tribunal’. Project Coordinator/Counselor

Leap runs TPO’s project that aims to Strengthen the Local Mental Mental Health Systems in Cambodia. SUN Solida

Project Assistant and Counselor

Solida holds a B.A in psychology (2008) from RUPP and a B.A in Educational Science and English in 2010. Currently she acts as deputy coordinator with Justice and Relief for Survivors of the Khmer Rouge project and provides mental health support for Civil Parties of the ECCC, known as ‘Khmer Rouge Tribunal’. She is also part of TPO’s staff in support of Phka Sla project. As counselor she works at TPO’s treatment center. As trainer she contributes to TPO’s Training Unit with her knowledge in Child Development.

SANG Seum

SANG Seum

 Counsellor/Trainer

 Sang Seum holds a BA in Psychiatric Nursing from TSMC, the University of Health Sciences (2001), and a MA in Clinical Psychology and Trauma Treatment from RUPP (2012). He is a registered nurse and counselor with TPO’s project “To create a protective community for women, girls, men and boys through preventing and responding to gender based violence in a pragmatic and gender sensitive manner”. He provides counseling and psychotherapy to mentally-ill persons at clinic, community based project and delivers training for TPO. In 2007 he did further training in the area of drug addiction from Day Top Center, The USA and he obtains EMDR (Eyes Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) therapy protocol completion certificate University of Worcester (2017). In addition, Seum has been an accredited Nursing School Lecturer on Mental Health with the Ministry of Health since 2004.

 Men Sokhan, BA in psychology(1998) was certified as an upper secondary school teacher in 1999 and gained 8 years experiences as an instructor at teacher training center and has been serving as a trainer, social worker and a counselor in communities and clinics for more than 10 years, worked with GBV  victim by KRT and Master´s Degree in Educational  Management science​​​ and Recently Working in Johanniter international assistance.

SORM Rathana

Counselor

Rathana is working for Healing and Reconciliation for Victims of Torture of Khmer Rouge Trauma. She has been working for TPO’s Truth, Reconciliation and Healing – Towards a Shared Future project in Battambang province since 2013 and in 2015 joined the team in Phnom Penh. She graduated from the Royal University of Phnom Penh in 2013 with a BA in Psychology.

Counselor

Lady is a counselor for project Healing and Reconciliation for Victims of Torture of Khmer Rouge Trauma . Lady has been with TPO since 2002. He was a team leader for TPO’s Improving Mental Health and Access to Justice for Women project in Kampong Thom province.  He graduated as a nurse at the Technical School for Medical Care in Phnom Penh (’97) and completed a bachelor degree in Human Resource Management at Angkor City Institute (2008).

Counselor

Dina is a counselor for project Healing and Reconciliation for Victims of Torture of Khmer Rouge Trauma. He has been working for TPO since December 2017. He graduated from the Royal University of Phnom Penh in with a BA in Psychology.

SOUN Chesthavy

Counsellor

Thavy holds a B.A in Psychology (2007) from RUPP and Diploma of Professional Health Counseling (2020) from UP. She gained 8 years experiences as a team leader of counselor, social worker worked with children sexual exploitation and trafficking. And almost 7 years’ experience as a school psychologist in the school and communities. Currently she acts as a counselor with Justice and Relief for Survivors of the Khmer Rouge project.

Ousaphea is a Registered Nurse (from Battambang Regional Nursing School) and works as a general nurse and receptionist at the TPO Treatment Center in Phnom Penh. She provides psycho-education and arranges clinical assessments to clients, assists with administering medication and maintains the client database. She has been working with TPO since 2006.

Counsellor

Borey is a counselor for project to  Justice and Relief for Survivors of the Khmer Rouge project. He has completed BA in Psychology from Royal University of Phnom Penh. He start to join with TPO since 2022

Finance Manager

Bunlay, TPO’s finance manager, has been working with TPO since 2004. He holds a BA in Accounting from the National Institute of Management as well as an MA in Finance from the University of Cambodia.

PHAT Sopheak

Sopheak has been assisting TPO’s Finance Department since March 2022, monitoring TPO accounts and preparing financial reports and statements. She holding  a BA in Accounting and Finance  from University Economic and Finance  Phnom Penh.

Administrative Officer

Sokhoeun has been supporting TPO with a variety of administrative tasks since 2010. In 2019 she take responsible for Human Resources and also responsible communication matters. She completed the course in Electronics–Computer at Don Bosco Technical School in 2009, obtained a diploma of General English from Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia (PUC) and hold a BA in Banking & Finance from Build Bright University in Phnom Penh.

Deputy Director

Sopheap monitors and evaluates TPO’s programs and also designs and implements research projects. She is also actively involved in TPO’s fundraising activities, Design, update and implement the necessary monitoring forms to gather data on all TPO’s field activities. Sopheap started with TPO in 2009, after obtaining her BA in Psychology from the Royal University of Phnom Penh.

Sopheap works in the Research, Monitoring & Evaluation team where she is responsible for collecting and entering data from all of TPO’s projects. She started at TPO in 2012. She provides counseling and psychological support and also runs awareness raising activities. She started with TPO in 2011 as a field facilitator for our livelihood Program in Battambang.
