On 30 March, TPO Cambodia—in collaboration with Kdei Karuna Organization (KdK) http://www.kdei-karuna.org/ with funding by USAID (https://www.usaid.gov/cambodia) held a launching event for the project “Healing and Reconciliation for Victims of Torture during the Khmer Rouge Regime”
At the event, posters with photographs and brief narratives from other former Khmer Rouge members and victim-survivors who have received therapy from TPO revealed their personal journey of healing from their traumas was displayed. The event started with welcoming and opening remarks by TPO Executive Director, Dr.Chhim Sotheara, and Mr. Sean Callahan, USAID Deputy Mission Director following with Overview of the Project Activities by Ms. Om Chariya, TPO Project Coordinator & Heng Sokong, KdK Project Officer and Project Baseline Study Results followed by questions &answers by Mr. Edward Palmer, Ph.D., TPO Clinical Adviser
Around 50 participants, including representatives from the US Embassy, USAID, the ECCC, and other national and international organizations and institutions, attended the event.
