Executive Director

Dr. Sotheara (MD, MPM, Senior Consultant Psychiatrist, PhD) has been working in Mental Health since 1998. He’s been TPO’s Executive Director since 2002. Dr. Sody (MD, Psychiatrist) provides psychiatric assessment, treatment and psychotherapy to clients at the TPO Treatment Center in Phnom Penh. She is a pioneer of mental health work in Cambodia. Dr. KEO Sothy

Dr. KEO Sothy

Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr. Sothy (MD, Psychiatrist) provides psychiatric assessments and treats clients at the TPO Treatment Center in Phnom Penh. He obtained his MD at the University of Health Sciences and completed his residency in psychiatry in 2005. He has been providing treatment to people with mental issues and survivors of torture ever since.

Project Coordinator/Clinical Supervisor/Counselor

Phaneth  who holds a BA in Psychology and an MA in Counseling Psychology, is in charge of TPO’s project on “Improvement of Psychological Wellbeing of Women Affected by GBV through Capacity Building to Local Service Providers”, where she also counsels and treats people with mental health and psychosocial issues. Much of her work focuses on the issues of domestic violence, alcohol abuse, and family conflicts. She is also experienced in counseling and providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents and young adults. Phaneth has been with TPO since 2008. She is also a part-time lecturer at the Social Work Department, Royal University of Phnom Penh.

SEANG Leap

SEANG Leap

Project Coordinator/Clinical Supervisor/Counselor

Leap  runs TPO’s project on Partnership for Improvement and Prevention in Non-Communicable Disease (PIP-NCD).This includes overseeing the TPO activities in Chamkar Leu district (Kampong Cham province) and Oreang Ou district (Tboung Khmum province). He also works as a therapist at TPO’s treatment center, helping people who are dealing with stress and anxiety issues, depression and somatoform disorders. ROS Saray Endeth

ROS Saray Endeth

Project Coordinator

Sarayendeth has been working with TPO Cambodia since 2011 as a Counselor/Trainer. Now in his role as a Project Coordinator involved in Johanniter International Assistance funded a humanitarian project creating a protective community for women, girls, men and boys through preventing and responding to gender based violence in a pragmatic and gender sensitive manner. Endeth holds a BA in field of Psychology from Royal University of Phnom Penh, and in 2003, he pursued on a degree of Educational Science and English from Faculty of Pedagogy. He also held a Master Degree in Development Management in 2013.

BUN Lemhuor

BUN Lemhuor

Senior Trainer/Counselor

Lemhuor is a Senior psychologist and Trainer with TPO Cambodia within the Training department and JR project, He also provides counseling at the TPO treatment center. He trained network NGOs/partnerships and Govt agencies including psychosocial and mental health care and supervision. He was involved in some subjects as an oral presenter at local and international events; the Southeast Asia Mental Health Virtual Conference, and the International Conference on Psychology, Counselling, and Education (ICPCE 2019), at Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Malaysia.

He also worked for TPO in the period 2009 – 2011 with Strengthening Local Mental Health Systems, a project based in Kampong Thom Province. In 2013, he was moved to work for Justice and Relief for Survivors of the Khmer Rouge project, he provides mental health support to Civil Parties selected for this by Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC).

Lemhuor holds a BA in Management (2013) and his Master’s degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from the Royal University of Phnom Penh (2016). He was recognized professional certificate on ToT in the Do No Harm Principle and a professional certificate on Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). In December 2023, he was invited to participate in CIFA ETS in Italy, to develop a methodology to foster resilience and self-esteem among children and teenagers in particularly vulnerable contexts.

He is responsible, for reports, building networks in Partnership, developing training, guidelines, and methodologies, and supervising/ coaching NGO partners. He is working on developing courses and technical support to develop self-care tools and Mindfulness meditation and practice in Buddhist meditation.

SUN Solida

SUN Solida

Senior Trainer/Counselor

Solida holds B.A in Psychology (2008) from Royal University of Phnom Penh ( RUPP) and Pedagogy Certificate in Educational Science and English from National Education Institute (NIE) in 2010, taken an 8months intensive training course on FAMILY THERAPY at RUPP in 2018. She employed at Transcultural Psychosocial Organizational as an Local Expert|Clinical Assistant Psychologist since 2013. Currently, She is promoted as a Senior Trainer|Psychologist  since 2019. She provides psychological and mental health support to community and people live with mental health and provide coaching supervision to junior staff and to NGO partners who was trained by TPO. She also involved and invested in developing psychological intervention guideline and psychosocial intervention for community and children in shelter. Her field of interest is Child Development, Family Therapy, Parenting and Training.

SANG Seum

SANG Seum

 Counselor/Trainer

Seum holds a BA in Psychiatric Nursing from TSMC, the University of Health Sciences (2001), and a MA in Clinical Psychology and Trauma Treatment from RUPP (2012). He is a registered nurse and counselor with TPO’s project “To create a protective community for women, girls, men and boys through preventing and responding to gender based violence in a pragmatic and gender sensitive manner”. He provides counseling and psychotherapy to mentally-ill persons at clinic, community based project and delivers training for TPO. In 2007 he did further training in the area of drug addiction from Day Top Center, The USA and he obtains EMDR (Eyes Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) therapy protocol completion certificate University of Worcester (2017). In addition, Seum has been an accredited Nursing School Lecturer on Mental Health with the Ministry of Health since 2004.

Sokhan, BA in psychology (1998) was certified as an upper secondary school teacher in 1999 and gained 8 years experiences as an instructor at teacher training center and has been serving as a trainer, social worker and a counselor in communities and clinics for more than 10 years, worked with GBV victim by KRT and Master´s Degree in Educational Management science​​​ and Recently Working in the project To create a protective community for women, girls, men and boys (wgmb) through  preventing and responding to gender based violence in a pragmatic and gender funded by Johanniter international assistance.

 

SORM Rathana

Rathana has graduated with a psychology degree in 2013. Currently, she is a candidate for a clinical psychology master at the Royal University of Phnom Penh. Rathana had worked for TPO’s Truth, Reconciliation and Healing – Towards a Shared Future project in Battambang province since 2013 and in 2015 joined the team in Phnom Penh. Then she had worked in project of Healing and Reconciliation for Victims of Torture of Khmer Rouge Trauma and the Australia-Cambodia Cooperation for Equitable Sustainable Service. Now, she is a counselor for project of Improvement of Psychological Wellbeing of Women Affected by GBV through Capacity Building to Local Service Providers

KOSAL Dina

KOSAL Dina

Dina Graduated from Royal University of Phnom Penh, Psychology Department in 2017. He has been working for TPO since December 2017, was a counselor for project “Healing and Reconciliation for Victims of Torture of Khmer Rouge Trauma” between 2017 to 2019, taking a role as trainers in the project of “The project “Improvement of Psychological Wellbeing of Women Affected by GBV through Capacity Building to Local Service Providers” between 2019 to date. He has more experience in working with general mental health issues and those who have complex trauma. He provides training course every year to those who are service providers, such as community leaders, health volunteer, and health center staff, member of Community Council that represented Women and Children and other community resources, as well as general public such as staff from different agency, parents, and youths.

NUTH Lady

Counselor/Trainer

Lady is working in TPO’s​project on Improvement of Psychological Well being of Women Affected by GBV through Capacity Building to Local Service Providers, where is also the team leader. He has been a TPO core group member since 2002. He graduated as a nurse at the Technical School for Medical Care in Phnom Penh in 1997 and completed a bachelor degree in Human Resource Management at Angkor City Institute in 2008.

Tola is a counselor for project to Protection Plus team.  He has been working for TPO since 2021. He has completed BA in Psychology from Royal University of Phnom Penh since 2018. He facilitates the Group Therapy and also provides Psycho Education, Mental Health First Aid, Basic Counseling skill, Trauma Inform Care Training. He as a coacher, He provide coaching to  Local Service Provider with Technical and Emotional support  in Siem Reap, Steung Treang, Rattanakiri Province. He involve create Adolescence and Youth Therapy Guideline and Coaching Guideline. He also works as a therapist at TPO’s treatment center, helping people who are dealing with stress and anxiety issues, depression disorders.

Thavy holds a B.A in Psychology (2007) from RUPP and Diploma of Professional Health Counseling (2020) from UP. She gained 8 years experiences as a team leader of counselor, social worker worked with children sexual exploitation and trafficking. And almost 7 years’ experience as a school psychologist in the school and communities. Currently she acts as a counselor with Justice and Relief for Survivors of the Khmer Rouge project.

Borey is a counselor/trainer for project to Justice and Relief for Survivors of the Khmer Rouge project. He has been working with Transcultural Psychosocial Organization since 2022. I graduated in Bachelor Degree of Art in 2015 from Department of Psychology, Royal University of Phnom Penh.

Team Leader/Counselor (Battambang)

Chan Veasna works for TPO’s Improving Mental Health for Survivors of Gender-Based Violence and Sexual Assault project in Battambang. She provides counseling and psychological support and also runs awareness raising activities. She started with TPO in 2011 as a field facilitator for our livelihood Program in Battambang.
