Child Development & Parenting Skills
A comprehensive four-day course – uniquely tailored to the context of the Cambodian family and society – for fathers, mothers, those planning to have children, teachers, psychologists, social workers, field workers, nurses, NGO staff, public and private sector workers and anyone else who supports, cares for or works with children.
What is this course about?
- the physical, psychological and social needs of children
- the differences between ‘development’ and ‘growth’
- essential parenting skills and different parenting styles
- communication and bonding with children
- appropriate play and praise methods
- importance of and techniques to build children’s confidence
- recognizing and helping your child with study stress
- appropriate discipline methods
- managing misbehavior in children

Venue: TPO’s Training Room at the TPO office, Phnom Penh Thmey.
Group size: 17 participants maximum.
Cost: 300 USD per person (including all material, refreshments & lunch).
A 10% discount applies to organizations enrolling a minimum of 4 people.
Language: Khmer
Certification: can be provided to those who complete all requirements.
